Schedule - PostgreSQL Development Conference 2024

Patch Review Workshop (Registration required, Breakfast provided)

Date: 2024-05-30
Time: 08:30–10:30
Room: Segal(1400)
Level: Intermediate
Feedback: Leave feedback

This is a workshop for people who would like to learn more about reviewing PostgreSQL patches. We will assume that you have some ability to read code (doesn't need to be perfect) and that you have some prior exposure to the pgsql-hackers mailing list.

We'll start with a presentation and give some tips on how to review and what to look for. Then, we'll break into groups, and each group will be assigned a patch to review. Finally, each group will present their review comments to the whole group and Andres and I will give our comments on the patch and on those review comments.

We will clear all of the patches to be reviewed with the authors of those patches ahead of time so that nobody is surprised to find their work being critiqued. If you have a patch that you think would make a good candidate for this session, please feel free to propose it to the speakers by email -- but please do this as far in advance of the conference as possible.

Please register in advance by selecting this "Additional Option" during general conference registration or by logging in to your registration and navigating to "Additional Options" here if you are already registered for the conference.
