Discuss the problems in the current design of PostgreSQL SLRU with examples showing the extreme performance issues in the case of subtransaction overflow and the case of a large amount of multi-xact creation. Also presents multiple ideas for resolving those issues and discusses the current idea we are pursuing in PostgreSQL open source.
