Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) is a critical requirement for enterprise compliance, yet its implementation in PostgreSQL remains a complex and historically controversial challenge. This session brings together contributors who have implemented TDE in PostgreSQL variants alongside other experts to synchronize efforts. Rather than debating the merits of TDE, we will focus on resolving active technical blockers in the storage manager, WAL handling, and Key Management integration to ensure a stable, extensible framework for the ecosystem. The goal of this session is to end with a clear consensus on the technical path forward of TDE for PostgreSQL.
